Job summary

First People Solutions in Glasgow is seeking a Civil Design Engineer to join our growing team. You will design civil works for major projects, produce drawings and reports, and work with multidisciplinary teams to deliver efficient solutions.

The role offers opportunities to review calculations, support junior engineers, and contribute to best practice in a stable consultancy environment with a focus on quality and compliance.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
• 3-5 years' experience in a UK engineering design consultancy.
• Strong understanding of drainage design.
• Experience with earthworks and externals works is advantageous.
• Proficiency in Civil 3D, AutoCAD or similar software.
• Good knowledge of design standards and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Designing civil works for large projects (drainage, earthworks, external works).
• Producing drawings, specs, and reports to a high standard.
• Working with multidisciplinary teams to deliver efficient solutions.
• Reviewing calculations and subcontractor designs for quality and compliance.
• Supporting junior engineers and contributing to best practice.
