Job summary

Aldwych Consulting Ltd in Warrington is seeking a Civil Engineer to join its development infrastructure team. You'll work on highways, drainage and earthworks for residential, commercial and public sector projects across the UK.

You will design, coordinate, and deliver high-quality infrastructure schemes, collaborate with planners and external consultants, and progress through technical design to approvals, with hybrid working and a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in civil infrastructure design, ideally highways and/or drainage.
• Background on UK development infrastructure projects.
• Knowledge of design standards and approval processes.
• Experience with Civil 3D, MicroDrainage/InfoDrainage and Causeway Flow.
• Experience contributing to residential, commercial or mixed-use developments.
• BEng/MEng in Civil Engineering or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the design and delivery of highways and drainage infrastructure for development schemes.
• Produce highway designs (S38 / S278) at preliminary and detailed stages.
• Support drainage designs (S104 / S98) including surface water, foul drainage and SuDS.
• Assist with earthworks and site level design.
• Collaborate with planners, architects, consultants and approving authorities.
• Support project delivery from feasibility through to detailed design and approvals.
• Produce technical drawings, calculations and design documentation.

An established and highly regarded development infrastructure consultancy is looking to appoint a Civil Engineer into its growing Warrington office. The Opportunity

Working as part of an experienced and supportive team, you'll be involved in the design and coordination of highways, drainage and earthworks packages across a broad range of development projects, gaining exposure to schemes from early concept through to detailed design and approvals.

The Role

As a Civil Engineer, you'll support the design and delivery of development infrastructure projects across a range of sectors.
Responsibilities will include:

• Assisting with the design and delivery of highways and drainage infrastructure for development schemes
• Producing highway designs (S38 / S278) at preliminary and detailed design stages
• Supporting the delivery of drainage designs (S104 / S98) including:
  • Surface water drainage
  • Foul drainage
  • SuDS design
  • Flow control and attenuation / balancing solutions
  • Foul pumping stations
• Assisting with earthworks and site level design
• Working closely with planners, architects, external consultants, and approving authorities
• Supporting project delivery from feasibility through to detailed design and approvals
• Producing technical drawings, calculations, and design documentation
• Collaborating with senior engineers and technicians to ensure high-quality project delivery

What We're Looking For

To be considered, you should have:

• Experience in civil infrastructure design, ideally within highways and/or drainage
• A background working on UK development infrastructure projects
• Good working knowledge of relevant design standards and approval processes
• Experience using software such as:
  • Civil 3D
  • MicroDrainage / InfoDrainage
  • Causeway Flow
• Experience contributing to designs for residential, commercial or mixed-use developments
• A BEng / MEng in Civil Engineering (or equivalent relevant experience)
