Job description

Our Civil Design Team is recruiting for a Civil Design Engineer to be a valued part of our professional design team in Southampton. Drawing together inputs from our electrical and mechanical teams, the Civil Design Engineer will produce original designs for civil infrastructure, including design and detail of temporary works within clean & dirty water and other sectors.

Responsibilities:

1. Liaison with clients to understand their specific requirements
2. Preparation of outline designs for tenders within short timescales
3. Preparation of clear and well-structured design calculations and reports
4. Provision of support and design proposals to site teams from pre-construction to construction phase

Key Skills/Background:

1. Proven ability to undertake civil design to current codes and standards
2. A background of working within the clean and/or dirty water sectors
3. Thorough knowledge of safety legislation relating to CDM regulations
4. Hydraulic Design Experience
5. IT literate, must be a proficient user of Microsoft packages, understanding of AutoCAD

Qualifications:

1. HND/BEng Civil Engineering or Civil Structural Engineering or by experience
2. Chartered status would be beneficial but not essential
