Job summary

A leading consultancy in the water sector is seeking Freelance Civil Design Engineers for key AMP8 projects across the UK. Opportunities range from Engineer to Principal level, with locations including Exeter, Croydon, Swindon, and Wakefield. Successful candidates will have civil engineering experience in water and wastewater projects and familiarity with relevant industry standards. Competitive long-term contracts are available with hybrid working options.

Qualifications

• Experience in civil engineering design for water/wastewater projects.
• Background in infrastructure, treatment works, pipelines, or drainage.
• Chartered status or working toward Chartership is desirable.

Responsibilities

Job description

Our client, a leading consultancy delivering key AMP8 infrastructure projects across the UK, is currently seeking Freelance Civil Design Engineers to support clean and wastewater design schemes on a contract basis. Opportunities are available at various levels, from Engineer to Principal, to join the team in Exeter, Croydon, Swindon, or Wakefield with hybrid and flexible working options.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and delivery of water and wastewater treatment, pipelines, and infrastructure schemes
• Engaging in feasibility, outline, and detailed design stages
• Supporting multi-disciplinary teams across various AMP8 frameworks
• Ensuring design outputs meet water industry standards and regulations

Job Requirements:

• Experience in civil engineering design for water/wastewater projects
• Background in infrastructure, treatment works, pipelines, or drainage
• Proficiency in design tools such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar software
• Understanding of relevant UK water industry standards and regulations
• Ability to work independently or within a collaborative team environment
• Chartered status or working toward Chartership (desirable for senior roles)
