Tractebel, part of the ENGIE Group, is seeking a proactive Civil Engineer to contribute to the design of the Hinkley Point C and Sizewell C nuclear powerplants in the UK. You will deliver structural solutions in collaboration with clients, contractors, and project teams.

Ideal candidates will hold a degree in Civil/Structural Engineering, be working towards or recently chartered, and have experience in reinforced concrete design and Eurocodes/BS codes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Working towards or recently Chartered with the ICE, IStructE, or with equivalent experience.
• Experience in reinforced concrete calculation and design.
• Working familiarity with Eurocodes, British Standard, and ETC-C (HPC/SZC).

Responsabilités

• Complete the structural design of new build nuclear structures including seismic and blast scenarios.
• Coordinate and communicate on complex engineering problems with project stakeholders.
• Provide technical review and respond to site queries and changes to support contractor activities on HPC site.
• Perform analysis of structures in FEM packages; Ansys experience is beneficial.
• Link with reinforcement detailers and check detailing models/drawings.

Your Mission

We are looking for motivated and innovative Civil Engineers to work on the design of the Hinkley Point C (HPC) and Sizewell C (SZC) nuclear powerplants, as well as our future pipeline of projects. You will provide your civil expertise to successfully deliver our projects, in collaboration with clients, contractors, stakeholders and our project teams.

Your key responsibilities

The key responsibilities will include a selection of the following:

• Completing the structural design of new build nuclear structures, including for accidental situations such as seismic and blast.
• Coordinating and communicating on complex engineering problems between project stakeholders.
• Providing technical review and responding to site queries and requested changes in a dynamic and fast-paced environment to support contractor activities on HPC site.
• Perform analysis of structures within commercial FEM packages (experience in using Ansys beneficial).
• Provide a technical link with reinforcement detailers, also checking detailing models and drawings.
• Developing strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.

To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate would meet the following requirements and criteria:

• Bachelor's or master's in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Working towards or recently Chartered with the ICE, IStructE, or with equivalent experience.
• Experience in reinforced concrete calculation and design.
• Working familiarity with relevant technical Codes of Practice and Industry Standards (Eurocodes, British Standard, and ETC-C the applicable code for HPC/SZC).
