Job summary

Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water in South Wales is seeking a skilled CAD Technician to produce high-quality technical drawings and plans, and to modify existing drawings to meet engineers' designs.

You will work in a hybrid setup with three days per week in the office, liaising with engineers to understand design requirements and construction techniques. Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with health and safety standards throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• ONC/HNC in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualifications; able to work to deadlines.
• Strong communication and collaboration within a multi-disciplinary team.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and organisational skills; safety aware.

Responsibilities

• Create high-quality, detailed technical drawings and plans based on designs supplied by engineers and modify existing drawings.
• Be proficient in CAD software, including AutoCAD and Autodesk Civil 3D.
• Liaise with engineers to understand design requirements and construction techniques.
• Manage workload and meet deadlines within a busy team.
• Produce accurate, detailed, scale drawings.
• Ensure drawings comply with industry, health and safety, and technical standards.
• Conduct site visits and surveys when required.
• Prepare working drawings for all stages of design and build documentation.
• Maintain accurate records.
