Project Overview

The Papua LNG Project is a major petroleum development in Papua New Guinea, involving:

  • Well pads and upstream gathering network including flowlines and multiphase trunklines
  • Upstream Central Processing Facility (CPF), approximately 30 km from the field
  • Onshore and offshore export systems including gas and condensate pipelines
  • Integration with existing liquefaction plant near Port-Moresby
Responsibilities
  • Represent the Papua LNG Civil-Structural team at contractor offices.
  • Provide expertise in civil-structural discipline, including seismic considerations, ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
  • Supervise civil and structural activities by FEED and EPSCCs Contractors, especially for early works, CPF-Wellpads, and pipelines packages. Highlight issues and propose solutions.
  • Review engineering documents related to civil and structure deliverables, coordinating with project specialists.
  • Ensure activities comply with laws, standards (PNGS, Australian/New Zealand standards), project requirements, and specifications, maintaining high quality and HSE standards.
  • Maintain communication between company and contractor teams, responding promptly to technical queries and issues.
  • Challenge contractors to optimize costs and schedules, including modularization strategies.
  • Assist in formalizing derogation requests against project standards.
  • Support project reviews and implement findings related to civil and structural disciplines.
  • Evaluate CPF-Wellpads FEED contractors during competition phases.
  • Build constructive relationships with contractors and suppliers to improve performance, reduce costs, and enhance quality.
Qualifications
  • Engineering degree.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Experience in oil & gas projects.
  • Proven experience in similar roles.
