An exciting and unique opportunity has arisen within the Events Team at South Derbyshire District Council.

We are seeking a highly organised individual with a creative mindset and driven by a genuine enthusiasm for events, to join our compact yet dynamic team. In this role, you will be accountable to the Events, Arts, and Marketing Officer and will work closely with the Council Chair.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee civic appointments and duties for the Chair and coordinate the annual programme of Civic events which includes the Remembrance Day Parade, Civic Reception and the Chair's Charity Dinner.
  • Support the organisation, administration, and delivery of key Council events such as the Festival of Leisure, the Swadlincote annual Christmas Lights Switch and the summer Music in the Park events.
  • Create promotional material and market events, and manage the production of marketing materials.
Qualifications
  • Highly organised with a creative and innovative mindset.
  • Experience in event development, project management, and support of events.
  • Knowledge of working in a council setting or understanding of the Chair’s role.
  • Experience in the production of promotional material and marketing of events.
  • Access to a car is desirable.

Role is part time (22.5 hours per week). The Flexible Hours Working Scheme applies. Some evening and weekend working may be required.
