Job summary

Dundee City Council is seeking an experienced Suicide Prevention Co-ordinator to support partners across the city, reduce suicide risk, and strengthen collaborations among statutory and Third-Sector organisations. The role is hybrid, based at home and in the 5 City Square office, and requires 37 hours per week.

You will work within Dundee’s Protecting People arrangements, aligning with Scotland’s Creating Hope Together strategy, developing and evaluating priorities, and travelling as required.

Qualifications

• You will have a degree, or equivalent, in a relevant subject area.
• Experience of multi-disciplinary working and developing positive partnerships.
• Experience in managing projects or services, in service development and/or planning.
• Experience or skills in accumulating, collating and analysing data, knowledge of Microsoft Packages, including Office 365, Teams, Word, Excel.

Responsibilities

• You will support the development of partnership working between all agencies involved in suicide prevention in Dundee, including supporting the development of a suicide prevention outcome plan.
• You will co-ordinate suicide prevention activities in Dundee and governance arrangements for suicide prevention.
• You will act as the central hub for all suicide prevention activities in Dundee and manage sub groups and projects.
• You will be able to lead, advise, assess and respond to critical situations.
• Some flexibility with occasional out of hours working and travel within and outwith Dundee.
