Job description

We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced administrator to join our busy CMHT Older Adults Team. You will be part of a team providing admin support to service users, clinicians, and other health professionals.

This is a citywide administrator role, and you will be expected to work at various sites across Manchester, including MRI, Wythenshawe, Chorlton, and Crumpsall Vale.

Please note: This role is not eligible for sponsorship unless you meet specific criteria due to temporary exemptions from recent immigration rule changes effective from 22/07/2025. Separate provisions apply to workers sponsored and holding a Skilled Worker visa since before 04/04/2024.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will process referrals promptly, ensure all personal information is recorded accurately and confidentially, and adhere to data quality and target procedures.

Answer incoming calls, arrange appointments, and handle general correspondence such as letters and reports.

Provide administrative support to the clinical team, take minutes for meetings on a rota basis, and manage high volumes of calls and administrative tasks like scanning and copying.

Person Specification
Education / Qualifications
  • Good education in Maths and English, including a Level 3 qualification (e.g., NVQ, B-TEC QCF, Apprenticeship) or equivalent.
  • RSA 2 qualification or experience with DICT8 or similar audio typing systems.
  • Additional relevant IT qualifications.
Experience
  • Experience working in a busy office with confidentiality.
  • Experience in a healthcare setting.
Skills and Abilities
  • Effective time management, IT proficiency (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), numeracy skills, and ability to handle complex work demands.
  • Excellent communication skills, patient-focused, approachable, and knowledgeable about the EPR system.
Knowledge
  • Understanding of the Data Protection Act and client confidentiality.
  • Knowledge of mental health issues and challenges.
