Job summary

Public Works Department is seeking a Parks Maintenance Worker to assist in maintaining City parks, esplanades, and sprinkler systems. The role emphasizes mowing, trimming, cleaning, and basic upkeep across facilities.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED and may prefer up to six months of related experience. A Texas driver’s license is required, with a focus on safe operation and reliable upkeep.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of six (6) months experience in related work preferred.

Responsibilities

• Mows, edges, and weeds grass in City parks.
• Trims trees, cleans restrooms, and picks up trash in City parks and along City streets.
• Cleans City catch basins from debris after each rain.
• Posts signs for upcoming council and special events meetings as directed.
• Performs routine building and grounds maintenance.
• Performs manual labor as necessary.
• Performs all other duties as may be assigned by Parks Crew Leader or Public Works Director.
