Job description

Job Title: Area Manager - Amazon Fresh Fulfillment Center

Area Managers are responsible for overseeing all budgetary, people development, and operational objectives within our Amazon Fresh Fulfillment Center. Key responsibilities include managing and leading a team of Team Leads, coaching and mentoring staff to meet performance objectives, fostering positive employee relations, and building leadership capacity within the center.

  1. Drive the creation of staffing plans, schedules, quality initiatives, process improvements, and other Six Sigma projects to meet and exceed the Business Plan.
  2. Set and clarify requirements and expectations for Area Managers.
  3. Measure team performance, provide feedback, and hold Team Leads accountable.
  4. Share best practices across departments, shifts, and networks.
  5. Collaborate with support staff (HR, Finance, Facilities, S&LP, IT) to secure resources for projects and initiatives.
  6. Address operational and personnel issues affecting the functional area.
  7. Identify issues impacting multiple areas and propose solutions to senior management.
  8. Focus on safety, quality, customer experience, and productivity.
  9. Review work forecasts and determine productivity requirements.
  10. Partner with other Area Managers to balance labor and ensure efficient shifts.
  11. Support safety programs and OSHA compliance.
  12. Lead process improvement initiatives using Lean tools.
Basic Qualifications
  • 2+ years of employee and performance management experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends, nights, and holidays
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1+ years of experience with performance metrics, process improvement, or Lean techniques
