Job summary

Sopra Steria Limited in Salisbury is seeking a Cisco Network Engineer to design, deploy and support enterprise network solutions within secure defence environments. You’ll work onsite five days a week, gaining hands-on experience with routing, switching, firewalls and wireless technologies while developing automation exposure.

The role requires CCNA/CCNP or willingness to achieve certification, hands-on Cisco hardware, and familiarity with ITIL.

Qualifications

CCNA/CCNP certification or willingness to achieve with support.
Hands-on experience with Cisco routers, switches, firewalls and wireless access points.
Knowledge of TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, ACLs and related networking technologies.
Experience in an ITIL environment.
Eligible for Developed Vetting clearance.

Responsibilities

Assist design, build, deployment and support of enterprise network solutions.
Support operational requirements and respond to incidents in secure environments.
Monitor, maintain and troubleshoot production network infrastructure.
Investigate complex service issues and implement approved changes.
Handle support tickets and contribute to service improvements.
Support automation and infrastructure-as-code technologies such as Ansible and Terraform.
