CIO – Data and GenAI Strategy
This role will be responsible for refreshing and repositioning the organisation’s Data and GenAI strategy as a key enabler of business growth and competitive differentiation. A critical component will be driving the shift toward becoming a data-driven organisation—ensuring insights inform key business decisions and exploring the use of GenAI where beneficial. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the evolution of the Data and Digital strategy with GenAI at its core, enabling innovation, smarter decision-making, and competitive differentiation.
- Be accountable for defining the Data Strategy, including data collection, cleansing, reporting, and master data management—enabling the organization to fully leverage data and insights with robust governance, access control, and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive Technology strategy aligned with organizational growth objectives, including future acquisitions and digital transformation initiatives.
- Define and drive a GenAI roadmap—identifying and developing high-impact use cases across functions (e.g., commercial, operations, R&D, customer experience).
- Lead and mentor a high-performing small team, ensuring a secure backend while enabling front-end innovation.
- Manage third-party vendors with full accountability for networking, infrastructure, and security.
- Serve as a key leader and change agent during a data and digital transformation journey, demonstrating the 'art of the possible.'
- Engage and influence senior stakeholders, from Board level down.
- Propose commercially sound initiatives with clearly demonstrable ROI.
Required Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a senior Information Technology leadership role.
- At least 10 years of relevant experience, particularly with exposure to data and digital transformation.
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience with AI/ML technologies, including GenAI platforms (e.g., GPT, Claude, Vertex AI, Azure OpenAI).
- Strong experience in leveraging data and insights, business intelligence, and advanced analytics.
- Experience managing a full departmental budget (opex and capex).
- Developing and applying GenAI use cases to deliver business value.
