Are you highly organised, proactive, and passionate about making a difference in the lives of vulnerable children and young people? We're currently looking for a Unit Co-ordinator to join the Cared for Children and Care Leavers Team within Cheshire East Council.

As a key member of the team, you’ll provide comprehensive business and administrative support to Social Workers, Team Managers, and Personal Advisors. This is a rewarding role where your contribution directly supports care planning, leaving care support, and adoption decision-making processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Organise and manage bi-weekly Agency Decision Making (ADM) meetings, including maintaining booking systems and meeting schedules.

  • Provide guidance and support to social workers regarding ADM processes and required documentation.

  • Set up and prepare meeting rooms and ensure video conferencing is operational across multiple venues.

  • Minute sensitive and confidential ADM meetings accurately and professionally.

  • Maintain detailed records of ADM outcomes, correspondence, and supporting paperwork.

  • Liaise with legal teams, social workers, and agency advisers to meet procedural requirements and court timescales.

  • Coordinate travel, interpreter bookings, and documentation for service users and staff.

  • Input, manage, and secure confidential data on internal systems (e.g., Liquid Logic).

  • Support financial processes including purchase card transactions, invoice processing, and tracking expenditure.

  • Assist with staff onboarding and DBS monitoring, ensuring accurate and current records.

About You:
  • You’ll be experienced in administrative roles, ideally within a children’s social care or local authority setting.

  • Able to remain calm and professional under pressure, handling emotionally sensitive situations with discretion and resilience.

  • Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and the ability to use case management systems.

  • Confident communicator with excellent organisational, minute-taking, and data management skills.

  • Knowledge of policies, procedures, and safeguarding responsibilities within children’s social care is highly desirable.

  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Business Administration (or equivalent) is essential.

Why Join Us? Cheshire East Council is committed to working for a brighter future together. You’ll be part of a team that values flexibility, responsibility, service, innovation, and teamwork. You’ll receive support to develop professionally, be treated with respect, and have the chance to make a tangible impact in your community.
