Job description

As the CIB Global Banking Controls Testing Lead, you will oversee a global team responsible for executing diverse testing techniques to ensure compliance with laws, rules, and regulations. Your role involves conducting end-to-end process reviews, evaluating control design and performance, and providing insights to maintain a strong risk and control environment.

You will collaborate with partners across Risk Management, Compliance, Operational Risk, and Control Management, offering valuable insights and opportunities for business owners to support their operations. Your leadership will be crucial in advancing the Firm's Risk and Control framework by leveraging best practices, innovative processes, and tools.

Reporting to the Global Head of the Testing Center of Excellence (TCOE) for Commercial & Investment Bank (CIB), you will be part of a new firmwide organization that consolidates regulatory, process, and control expertise globally. Job Responsibilities
  1. Lead the testing team in assessing and monitoring compliance and operational risks, ensuring adherence to firm standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
  2. Develop and lead the Global Banking TCOE team and deliver the testing plan.
  3. Partner with key stakeholders in Business units to perform control evaluations, monitoring, and testing across multiple business groups, technology domains, and operational functions to identify control gaps and opportunities for improvement.
  4. Recruit, develop, and retain top risk and control talent.
  5. Guide team in executing risk-based control testing and substantive reviews.
  6. Provide coaching and mentorship to a global team of professionals, serving as a leader within the organization.
  7. Collaborate with other business testing leads to ensure consistency and identify integration points.
  8. Navigate the regulatory and compliance landscape to define assessment strategies, ensuring testing addresses compliance requirements in a complex environment.
  9. Participate in TCOE improvements and transformation initiatives as the organization matures.
  10. Manage budget and headcount to ensure efficient delivery of quality results.
Required Qualifications
  • Strong knowledge and experience in Investment Banking, Corporate Banking, Commercial Banking, and Wholesale Lending processes and controls.
  • Experience or expertise in risk management, audit, compliance, or control management, with a solid understanding of industry standards.
  • Proficiency in the CIB industry.
  • Proven track record in managing compliance, risk, and controls at a senior level across multiple regions.
  • Experience leading geographically diverse teams.
  • Stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at a senior executive level.
  • Ability to analyze complex issues, develop risk mitigation strategies, and communicate effectively based on regulatory guidance.
  • Experience working with large data sets to inform decisions.
  • Knowledge of risk management frameworks, regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Ability to guide teams and manage competing priorities effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in audit, compliance, or control management.
  • Skills in data analytical tools such as Tableau, Alteryx, or Python.
  • Certifications like CCEP, CRCM, CRCMP, or similar risk-related certifications.
