Job Description

As the Operational Risk Assessment Executive Director within the CIB Central Controls Office, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the organization's control environment. You will lead and manage operational risk assessment processes, acting as a trusted advisor to senior management. Your expertise will drive key initiatives such as the Compliance & Operational Risk Summary (CORS), Compliance Risk Assessment (CRA), Material Risk Inventory (MRI), and Conduct Risk assessments. You will ensure these assessments are conducted effectively, providing valuable insights to support the organization's risk management strategy. Your leadership will be crucial in developing and delivering an enterprise-wide framework to manage control-related processes driven by regulation and compliance requirements.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Lead the execution of the CIB Risk Assessments Framework to ensure comprehensive and accurate reporting of operational risks aggregation.
  2. Lead all business-as-usual activities related to Risk Assessment, partnering with risk stripe leads and assessment owners across CIB / Regional Teams to complete the CORS, QRA, CRAs, and ensure reporting to governance committees is complete, accurate, and relevant.
  3. Drive the strategy and direction of Risk Assessment within CIB, collaborating with Firmwide Controls, Regional Controls, and CCOR to improve the framework for consistency and simplicity.
  4. Develop and analyze CIB LOB level summary aggregation conclusions and reports for applicable L2 Risks, incorporating qualitative inputs and judgmental factors.
  5. Ensure Risk Assessments are conducted in alignment with FW CORE Standards, CRA, CORS Firmwide CC Standards, and procedures.
  6. Align key messages across control committees to withstand oversight scrutiny.
  7. Engage with senior leadership and stakeholder committees to validate and prioritize initiatives.
  8. Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to enhance efficiencies and best practices in Risk Assessment.
  9. Deliver high-quality, executive-level reporting and analytics to inform business decisions.
  10. Continuously improve risk assessment processes and tools.
  11. Manage and develop a team of professionals, building skills and capacity.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with significant experience in controls, audit, quality assurance, risk management, or compliance within financial services.
  • Strong leadership, judgment, and risk management culture fostering abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to influence at senior levels.
  • Process analysis and design skills to understand and improve controls.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills with effective solution communication.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple initiatives.
  • Ability to build internal relationships across functions.
  • Disciplined process and control management approach.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) for executive presentations.
