Job summary

Premier Foods is seeking a Continuous Improvement Manager at Lifton, Devon. The role leads the site CI strategy, develops road maps, and drives improvements across operations to meet customer demand.

The position offers a salary around £70,000 with additional car allowance, bonus, and private medical insurance, on a permanent 37.5-hour week. You will facilitate Lean workshops, build strong relationships with operations teams, and own CI change initiatives end-to-end, ensuring cost-saving targets

Permanent, 37.5 hours per week

Ambrosia is not your typical food business; in our 100+ years of manufacturing the nations favourites, we have evolved into a highly automated and technologically advanced site.

We are looking for a Continuous Improvement Manager to join our team at Lifton to develop and lead the implementation of the site CI strategy, identifying improvements in all areas of Operations effectiveness.

What you will be doing:

• Develop and implement a Continuous Improvement Road Map in line with the site operational plans.


• Develop process improvements as well as implement changes in workflows to ensure continuous and reliable performance and outputs ensuring customer demand can be met.


• Lead and facilitate LEAN/process improvement-based workshops to drive ideas and solutions to inform executable plans.


• Build relationships and influence site operational teams to deliver on site CI initiatives.


• Take ownership of change initiatives from evolution/efficiency identification through to project delivery via internal governance and controls and delivering site CI Cost saving targets.


• Setting the agenda for and manage Continuous Improvement across the site.

What we are looking for:

• Sigma six qualification and experience of Lean tools and systems.


• Ability to lead and coordinate successful cross-functional improvements as necessary.


• Demonstrable analytical skills, including the use of root cause problem-solving tools.


• Able to train others in lean methods.


• Able to link the lean activities to the wider business performance and benefits, well versed in financial management and analysis.


• A sound understanding of the manufacturing process and its variables.


• A sound understanding of core business processes and drivers.


• Ability to stratify data and complete pareto analysis to identify CI projects.
