The salary for this role is £12.40 per hour

As a Christmas Customer Assistant, you'll be at the heart of the action, greeting customers with a smile, offering product and gift advice, and creating a memorable experience that leads to a happily ever after and keeps them coming back all year round.

This role is a great opportunity whether you're just starting your career or have retail or customer service experience and want a fresh challenge. If you love helping people and making their day, this is the job for you. While this is a temporary contract, there may be potential for a permanent role later depending on local opportunities.

About the role

Responsibilities
  • Customer Interaction: Offer thoughtful advice, recommend products and highlight offers to ensure a positive shopping experience.
  • Till Operation: Assist with purchases at the counter or support self-checkout systems with energy and efficiency.
  • Stock Management: Keep shelves full so customers can find what they need during peak season.
  • Store Presentation: Ensure areas always look their best.
  • Online order support: Process deliveries, picking and packing for online orders as needed.
What you'll need to have
  • Available to work Bank Holidays including Black Friday week and weekend, Cyber Monday, Christmas Eve, Boxing Day, New Year’s Day.
  • Customer Service Skills: Comfortable approaching customers and providing a personalised experience.
  • Operations Ready: Ability to balance customer care with daily shopfloor and operational tasks.
  • Tech-Savvy: Ability to learn and use new technology, including handheld devices, tills and self-checkouts.
  • Team Player: Collaborative, one-team mindset to help achieve store goals.
  • Physical Stamina: Be on your feet, active, and able to lift as needed.
  • Brand Ambassador: Enthusiasm for Boots ethos, products and services.
It would be great if you also have
  • Experience in a retail or customer-facing environment (desirable)
  • Familiarity with Boots products and services (desirable)

We are recruiting Christmas Customer Advisors for our Bury St Edmunds, Cornhill store. We are looking for candidates to start from September onwards. Shifts are available between 07:00 and 20:00, including some weekend work. Exact shift patterns will be discussed at interview. We may close the advert when we have met our requirements.
