ABOUT US

The Maxwell Underground Mine, owned by Malabar Resources Ltd, has commenced operations at their Hunter Valley site, with production projected of up to 8 million tonnes of coal per annum. With a long life, the underground mine targets high quality coal, with the majority being metallurgical coal.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a CHPP Supervisor to join our team and support our continued growth. Reporting to the CHPP Superintendent, this role will oversee CHPP maintenance and production operations, focusing on leading a team of CHPP Technicians to achieve production goals and maintain safety.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
  • Assist with the development of working systems for CHPP operations.
  • Oversee operational and maintenance tasks in the CHPP in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Supervise CHPP operations to ensure production and railing targets are consistently met while maintaining high standards of product quality and plant efficiency.
  • Complete workplace inspections of the CHPP area in accordance with site safety standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies to ensure a safe and compliant work environment.
  • Support electrical and mechanical technicians in CHPP operations and maintenance, actively guiding them to identify and implement opportunities for process and performance improvement.
  • Demonstrate a strong safety focus and actively promote site HS&E requirements amongst the wider team.
  • Support the development of a positive working culture, while building a strong, high-performing team aligned with shared goals.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

To be successful in this role, the applicant will have:

  • Trade Qualifications (Electrical or Mechanical)
  • Working knowledge of the Work Health and Safety (Mines and Petroleum Sites) Act and regulations
  • High level of computer literacy
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills and strong communication skills.
  • Excellent time management and prioritisation skills
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills, including excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Prior experience in safe CHPP (or equivalent fixed plant) operations and maintenance activities is desirable.
  • Knowledge of Pulse Maintenance System (or similar) is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in the application of Microsoft Excel and Word software
