Astute People's Power Team is recruiting a CHP Field Service Technician to cover sites across the West London/Thames Valley region. The role offers a basic salary of £44,000 - £65,000 (DoE) with a company van, overtime, call-out payments and other benefits.

Ideal candidates will have experience with large reciprocating engines and field service work, plus NVQ Level 3 in engineering and ideally IOSH. A full UK driving licence is required.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
• IOSH health and safety qualification is advantageous.
• A full UK driving licence is required.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance of CHP engines and plant.
• Full engine overhauls as needed.
• Create and follow RAMS for minor works.
• Log faults and analyse fault trends to provide solutions.
• Create site maintenance plans and share improvements.

Job description

Astute's Power Team is partnered with a market-leading utilities company to recruit for a CHP Field Service Technician to work across their sites in the West London/Thames valley region. The sites span across the M4/M3 Corridor region.

The vital CHP Field Service Technician role comes with a basic salary of £44,000 - £65,000 (DoE) + Company Van + Overtime + call out payments + other company benefits.

Responsibilities and duties of the CHP Field Service Technician role

• Carrying out planned and reactive/breakdown mechanical maintenance of the fleet of CHP Engines and associated plant
• Full engine overhauls will be required at certain intervals of the running time of the engines
• Completion of maintenance plan for the asset which will include risk assessments and method statements (RAMS) for minor works
• Logging faults and identifying fault trend analysis to provide solutions
• Create site maintenance plans whilst sharing ideas amongst colleagues and improve plans where necessary
• Support other operations team activities to work as one whole team, which will include travelling to different regions if needed

Professional qualifications

• Ideally have an NVQ Level 3 qualification in a relevant engineering discipline such as Mechanical Engineering
• A health and safety qualification such as an IOSH will be highly advantageous
• A full UK driving licence is required due to the nature of the role

Personal Skills and prior experience

• Prior experience carrying out maintenance/overhauls on large reciprocating engines such as Deutz, MAN, Jenbacher, MTU, Perkins, Caterpillar, MWM, etc.
• Experience working in a field service role already will be ideal
• Royal/Merchant Navy Marine Engineers will also be considered for this opportunity
