A community-focused charity in Inverness is looking for an individual to assist with collections management and support the curatorial team at the museum. The role involves promoting a positive workplace culture, enhancing data access, and contributing to exhibitions. Ideal candidates should have a commitment to continuous development and strong teamwork skills. Environmental sustainability is also a key focus in all tasks.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDES:
1. Actively promote a positive and collaborative workplace culture that supports the Charity’s purpose of Making Life Better and i-care values to increase morale, productivity and performance.
2. Improve the data held on the Axiell content management system to increase access, including developing public access, to the museum collections
3. Assist with collections management improvements and efficiencies, including filing, scanning and other administrative tasks
4. Support the curatorial team with enquiries, collections access requests and image reproduction requests
5. Assist the curatorial team in developing and delivering collection-based displays and exhibitions
6. Assist in organising, marking and labelling objects in storage
7. Create regular collections-based social media posts
8. Pursue continuous professional development and contribute to the continuous improvement of Inverness Museum & Art Gallery and High Life Highland as a whole.
9. Attend and undertake any training online or in person.
10. Aim to reduce wastage and uphold our environmental values of being as sustainable as possible in all tasks.
11. Assist and support other areas of High Life Highland with particular projects, training or in the event of holidays or sickness working cross-functionally across the Inverness Museum & Art Gallery team.
12. Undertake all tasks in accordance with High Life Highland policies and procedures, including General Data Protection Regulations, health and safety procedures, relevant checks, reporting any concerns to management to ensure corrective action is take
