Job summary

A health and safety organization in Inverness seeks a Lifeguard to promote user safety and well-being. Job description

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  1. Actively promote a positive and collaborative workplace culture supporting the Charity’s purpose of Making Life Better and i-care values to enhance morale, productivity, and performance.
  2. Ensure the safe supervision of facilities and the health and safety of all users.
  3. Provide effective, preventative lifeguarding during all pool sessions.
  4. Implement emergency action plans in case of accidents or injuries, including water rescues and first aid, in line with training.
  5. Maintain physical and lifesaving training to comply with current Health & Safety regulations and standards set by High Life Highland, participating in necessary training.
  6. Assist with and supervise the safe operation of water and land-based activities.
  7. Organise and lead activities and classes as required.
  8. Encourage safe and appropriate user behaviour.
  9. Ensure all equipment is maintained to safety and cleanliness standards and set out safely when needed.
  10. Liaise with users and staff regarding daily centre operations.
  11. Regularly update knowledge of all relevant procedures.
  12. Report to management any suggestions for improving centre efficiency and effectiveness.
  13. Ensure cleaning standards are met as per the facility's programme.
  14. Perform reception and cashier duties, including admissions and cash control.
  15. Deliver inductions in the Fitness Suite.
  16. Promote and sell High Life Memberships to new customers.
  17. Provide excellent customer care.
  18. Engage in continuous professional development and contribute to the improvement of Culloden Leisure Centre and High Life Highland.
  19. Attend and complete training sessions, online or in person.
  20. Strive to reduce wastage and support environmental sustainability in all tasks.
  21. Support other areas of High Life Highland with projects, training, or cover during absences, working cross-functionally.
  22. Work on a rota, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays, with prior notice for leave requests.
  23. Perform all tasks following High Life Highland policies, including GDPR, health and safety, and reporting concerns to management.
