KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
The post involves a mix of manual and computer-based operations and will include:
- Actively promote a positive and collaborative workplace culture that supports the Charity’s purpose of Making Life Better and i-care values to increase morale, productivity, and performance.
- Work as part of a team to deliver, support, and promote library and information services to all.
- Deliver a high standard of customer care.
- Assist with library events and promotions aimed at various age ranges, including children, teenagers, and adults (including Bookbug).
- Assist with library routines such as shelving, processing, and repairing library stock.
- Input and check databases and maintain reservation systems.
- Follow cash handling procedures.
- Help customers make the best use of library resources, including e-resources.
- Undertake any other duties necessary to ensure efficient and effective service delivery across the library network.
- Pursue continuous professional development and contribute to the ongoing improvement of Nairn Library and High Life Highland as a whole.
- Attend and undertake any required training, online or in person.
- Strive to reduce wastage and uphold environmental values of sustainability in all tasks.
- Support other areas of High Life Highland with projects, training, or in cases of holidays or sickness, working cross-functionally across the library team.
