The Chinese Master Chef at Kimpton Tsim Sha Tsui Hong Kong is responsible for leading the culinary team in creating exceptional Chinese cuisine, both traditional and modern, for our high-end guests. This role involves menu development, client interaction, and a commitment to mentoring the next generation of culinary professionals.

A little taste of your day-to-day

Every day is different, but you’ll mostly be:

  • Designing and executing innovative and visually appealing Chinese dishes
  • Developing and updating seasonal menus that reflect current culinary trends while maintaining authenticity
  • Creating custom menus for special events, weddings, and corporate functions
  • Managing and training kitchen staff to ensure high standards of food preparation and presentation
  • Collaborating with other departments, such as event planning and front-of-house staff
  • Conducting tastings and presentations for potential clients

What we need from you

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in high-end Chinese cuisine, with experience in 5-star hotels or luxury restaurants with Michelin or Black Pearl distinctions preferred
  • Proven track record of creating both traditional and modern Chinese banquet menus
  • Expertise in a wide range of Chinese cooking techniques and strong knowledge of ingredient sourcing, food safety, and hygiene standards
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to confidently discuss menu options with clients and accommodate their preferences and dietary restrictions
  • Strong leadership skills to manage and train kitchen staff, ensuring a positive and productive kitchen environment
