Job summary

D R Newitt Recruitment is seeking an experienced Technical Manager to own the site's technical, quality, food safety and compliance activities within a chilled food manufacturing environment.

The role requires strong leadership across the technical function, with responsibility for maintaining BRCGS standards, HACCP programs and robust quality systems, while working collaboratively with production, engineering and supply chain teams to drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Demonstrable experience leading technical/quality teams in food manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of BRCGS standards and HACCP principles.
• Experience with audits, supplier assessments and corrective actions.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management across functions.
• Ability to drive continuous improvement and maintain compliance.

Responsibilities

• Lead the site’s technical, quality, food safety and compliance functions to meet legal, regulatory and customer requirements.
• Develop and mentor the technical team, set objectives and drive continuous improvement.
• Maintain and improve BRCGS certification and quality management systems (target Grade A).
• Oversee HACCP plans, food safety policies, product specs and testing programmes.
• Plan internal and external audits, ensure timely corrective actions and close non-conformances.
