Job description

Please be aware this is a long-term temporary post to start ASAP.

We are looking for Children’s Social Work Team Managers to manage busy area teams. Applicants must have experience in team management and be competent in managing cases from referral through to permanence.

Candidates must be able to evidence competence in managing:

  • Referrals, through assessment & child in need, strategy discussions, S47 to child protection, pre-proceedings through court proceedings into permanence and adoption.

Practicing in line with the council's restorative and family-led approach.

Manage and influence team culture.

Support with performance, case decision-making, and outcome-focused supervision.

Manage staff welfare, performance, and HR.

Applicants will be office-based and available between 8:30 am – 5 pm, with some flexibility to support casework and safety planning.

Please be aware this is a long-term temporary post to start ASAP.
