Children's Support Worker - Residential Home for Children with Learning Disabilities
Location: Ashbourne, Derbyshire
Shifts: Full-time, including Days and Nights (rota-based)
Salary: Up to £27,500 per annum (dependent on experience and qualifications)


Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with learning disabilities?
We are currently seeking a compassionate, reliable, and dedicated Children's Support Worker to join our clients team in a residential home setting in Ashbourne. You'll be part of a supportive and friendly team working to provide high-quality care, guidance, and support to young people, helping them develop essential life skills in a safe and nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supporting children with daily routines, personal care, and activities that promote independence and personal development
  • Building strong, trusting relationships with the young people and acting as a positive role model
  • Working closely with other professionals including social workers, healthcare providers, and family members
  • Keeping accurate records and contributing to care plans
  • Ensuring a safe, clean, and positive home environment
  • Participating in regular training and team meetings
Requirements:
  • NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People (or equivalent) - Essential
  • Full UK Driving Licence - Essential (due to location and potential travel with young people)
  • Previous experience in a similar support role, preferably within a residential care setting
  • A caring, patient, and resilient personality with a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
  • Able to work a flexible shift pattern, including weekends, evenings, and nights
