Job description

Salary: GBP 29,172 per annum

About the Role

Our client is on an exciting journey with Leicestershire County Council to deliver a range of Children's homes for the most vulnerable children and young people in Leicestershire. While a specific home will be your base location, flexibility to travel across the locality to cover shifts in other homes is required. Homes are located in Hinckley, Coalville, and Syston.

These homes support children and young people aged 8-18 with complex risks and behaviors. The service provides opportunities for service users to enjoy different experiences, establish friendships, and develop confidence, independence, and social/emotional skills.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Build trust and develop nurturing relationships to promote independence, wellbeing, strengths, and capabilities of the service users.
  2. Work in partnership with parents, carers, and other professionals.
  3. Contribute to the upkeep of the home, including cooking and cleaning.
  4. Accurately document information and keep records up to date.
  5. Adhere to safeguarding policies and procedures.
  6. Maintain a safe environment at all times.
Essential Requirements
  • Hold or be willing to achieve the Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare within the required timeframe.
  • Motivated to make a positive difference in young people's lives, creating a safe space and building resilience.
  • Good understanding of safeguarding and protection of vulnerable children and young people.
  • Flexibility to work sleep-ins, shifts, including weekends and bank holidays.
  • Relevant experience is desirable but not essential; a positive attitude and willingness to learn are key.
