Job Title: Social Worker - Recruitment and Assessment Adoption

Please be aware this is a Long Term Temporary post to start ASAP.

This role is within the regional adoption agency, Together for Adoption.

Position Details:

  • Part-time, 4 days a week (29.6 hours)

About Together for Adoption:

We are a Regional Adoption Agency serving Wigan, Warrington, Halton, St Helens, and Cheshire West and Chester local authorities. We seek an experienced social worker in fostering or adoption to support recruitment, assessment, and support of prospective adoptive parents. Responsibilities include conducting initial and comprehensive assessments, supporting approval and matching processes, placements, and post-adoption support. You will also participate in recruitment campaigns, deliver information sessions, training programs, and support systems for adopters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build strong relationships with Locality teams and partner agencies.
  • Provide social work services to children and families, including:
    • Recruitment of adopters
    • Training delivery to adopters pre- and post-approval
    • Assessment of prospective adopters
    • Supervision and support of adopters
    • Assessment of needs and risks
    • Delivery of appropriate services
    • Promotion of preventative childcare and social work
    • Child protection duties
    • Attendance at court as necessary
    • Implementation of childcare policies
    • Duty officer responsibilities

Service Standards:

  • Provide high-quality, responsive social work interventions.
  • Work within established policies and procedures.
  • Supervised by the Practice Manager.
  • Participate in workload management, team meetings, and projects.
