A children's safeguarding organization is hiring an experienced Children's Safeguarding Social Worker for the Preston area. You will protect and support vulnerable children, working closely with families and professionals. Ideal candidates have a Social Work qualification, SWE registration, and safeguarding experience. Competitive hourly rates of £37–£38 based on experience are offered.
Children's social worker - Safeguarding
We are seeking experienced and dedicatedChildren’s Safeguarding social workerto join our teams across Burnley, Rossendale, and Pendle. These roles are vital in ensuring the safety, protection, and wellbeing of children and young people in our communities.
The successful candidates will work collaboratively with families, schools, healthcare providers, and partner agencies to assess risk, develop safeguarding plans, and deliver effective interventions that put the child at the centre of decision-making.
Undertake child protection enquiries, assessments, and casework in line with safeguarding legislation and local procedures.
Develop, implement, and review child-focused safeguarding plans.
Work in partnership with multi-agency professionals to ensure coordinated support for children and families.
Provide timely, accurate, and clear case recording and reports.
Contribute to safeguarding meetings, reviews, and case conferences.
Promote best practice and uphold professional standards in all safeguarding work.
To succeed in this role, you will bring:
A recognised Social Work qualification (e.g., BA/MA Social Work, DipSW, CQSW).
Registration with Social Work England (SWE).
Proven experience in children’s safeguarding, child protection, or related frontline services.
Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, statutory guidance, and best practice.
Excellent communication, assessment, and decision-making skills.
The ability to manage a caseload effectively under pressure.
Competitive hourly rate of£37–£38, depending on experience.
