Job Description:

A Children’s Social Worker is required to join Solihull’s Looked After Children Service. This is a great opportunity to be part of a close-knit team.

Details

The working pattern is Monday to Friday, full-time. We are a large team working with children looked after from 0 to 18 years old. We take responsibility for children and young people after a care plan is agreed, which means they need to be Looked After.

We work with children and young people with complex care plans, including court work around discharge of care orders. Successful candidates will have skills in engaging children and young people in their care planning, safeguarding investigations, and assessments.

We provide robust management support, regular supervision, team meetings, and weekly group check-ins. Social workers are expected to work in the office 40-50% of the time with hybrid working arrangements for the rest.

This role involves assessments and statements for the safe revocation or continuation of care orders.

As a Social Worker, you are required to:

  • Hold a Social Work England registration
  • Be eligible to work in the UK
  • Hold a full UK driving license
  • Have post-qualification experience
  • Possess a degree or equivalent in Social Work
  • Be registered with Social Work England
