Job Description:

A Childrens Social Worker is required to join Leicestershire’s Homeless Intervention Service. This is a great opportunity to be part of a close-knit team.

As a Social Worker on the Homeless Intervention Team you will:

• Aim to prevent children coming into care
• Work with young people aged 16/17 who are homeless
• The social workers need to have experience of undertaking this type of work as it requires a therapeutic approach, and they would preferably have training in Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP).
• The Senior Practitioner role would also require this same level of training and knowledge as well as having experience of supervising alternatively qualified staff (Family Intervention Workers).
• Due to the nature of the work, caseloads are low; however, it is intensive work so we need workers who can respond to families quickly.

What we are looking for in a Qualified Social Worker:

• Social Work England registration
• Eligible to work in the UK
• Hold a full UK license
• Post-qualified experience
• Degree level or equivalent in Social Work
