Please be aware this is a Long Term Temporary post to start ASAP.

BCFT is seeking a passionate and experienced Qualified Social Worker to join our Care Leavers Team, with a specialist focus on supporting Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children (UASC). This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of young people navigating complex transitions.

You will be part of a dedicated team that provides tailored support to UASC care leavers, ensuring their needs are met with compassion, cultural sensitivity, and professional excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Undertake Brief Enquiries and Merton Compliant Age Assessments in line with statutory guidance and best practice.

Provide high-quality social work support to UASC, promoting their welfare, independence, and integration.

Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners to develop and implement care and pathway plans.

Maintain accurate and timely records in accordance with legal and organisational requirements.

Contribute to the development of the specialist UASC service within the Care Leavers Team.

About You

Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.

Trained and experienced in conducting age assessments.

Proven experience working with UASC or similar vulnerable young people.

Strong understanding of immigration, asylum, and safeguarding frameworks.

Excellent communication, assessment, and report-writing skills.

Commitment to anti-discriminatory practice and cultural competence.
