Please be aware this is a Long Term Temporary post to start ASAP.

Barnsley Children’s Services are seeking a non case holding advanced social work practitioner to work within Barnsley’s children with disabilities service to support in driving forward service developments & other key areas of focus. The candidate must have a social work degree qualification. Several years of experience working within children’s safeguarding services and with children with disabilities at a senior practitioner level are required. Experience of supervising others is desirable. This will be a non-case holding role, supporting the Designated Social Care Officer with training, co-production with parents/carers, children & young people, and the co-development of Social Care/SEND services and the new Barnsley short breaks team. This role is initially for a 3-month period. The applicant must have drive, initiative, and the ability to manage time effectively to complete projects within tight deadlines. The candidate will work with health, SEND, social care, and other partners across the SEND landscape and must have a sound knowledge of children’s legislation, including the SEND code of practice and education law.
