A Childrens Social Worker is required to join Worcestershire’s Safeguarding Service. This is a great opportunity to be part of a close-knit team.
Responsibilities:
As a member of the Safeguarding Children in Need team, you will work directly with families identified as Children in Need under Section 17 of the Children Act 1989. The team operates across three geographical pods: Redditch and Wychavon. You will handle cases transferred from Locality Safeguarding, including those with no recourse to public funds, designated CIN LA, or SGO support plans. Your role involves supporting children who have stepped down from child protection plans, privately fostered children, those on Supervision Orders or Special Guardianship Orders, children from families with no recourse to public funds, and babies from the pre-birth pathway. You will also manage Section 7 and 37 private law proceedings and support pregnant teens or young parents with level 4 needs. The transfer process involves coordinating with the transferring team to ensure a smooth transition and timely support for the families.
