About The Role

Position required: Service Development Practitioner

Location: This role will be based in our Children’s Services. These services are located in Swinderby, Friesthorpe and Langford.

Salary: £38,609.55

Hours: 38 hours per week

Annual Leave: 30 days per annum

Kisimul provides residential care, supported living and education services for people who are autistic, have a learning disability, and may have a range of associated complex needs. We are looking for dedicated individuals to join the organisation as a Service Development Practitioner and be a part of our multi-disciplinary team.

About The Role

Kisimul provides therapeutically informed care and education and the Service Development Team work closely with our Therapeutic teams to support the implementation of these approaches in our services.

The Service Development team supports colleagues to enhance their knowledge and skills to support people who are autistic, have a learning disability, and may have a range of associated complex needs. As a Service Development Practitioner you will play a key role in supporting the induction and continued professional development of Kisimul colleagues. You will have a direct effect on new colleagues’ first experience of the Kisimul Group and how well-equipped colleagues feel to carry out their roles. You will be involved in the planning and delivery of a range of training packages, for example, autism and learning disability, trauma informed practice and our BILD certified course for behaviour support, Meas. Some of this support will involve direct support in services, modelling approaches, supporting reflective practice and being responsive to service needs. You will provide coaching and mentoring opportunities for colleagues to support them to embed their learning into practice.

About You

You will have completed, or be willing to work towards, at least one of the following:

Level 3 Award in Education and Training or completed a PTLLS/DTLLS course

A teaching qualification

Train the Trainer course

Other qualifications relevant to health and social care, education or positive behaviour support are desirable but not essential.

You will have experience of working in an educational or care setting supporting individuals with complex needs, including a learning disability and autism and you will have the ability to relate this experience to current best practice. You will have experience of mentoring others, supporting reflective practice and creating and delivering learning and development events and resources. You will have a passion for actively supporting colleagues to embed their learning into practice.
