Job summary

Cambian Group Plc is seeking a Part Time Children's Residential Support Worker to join our residential care team in Swadlincote. You will build strong relationships, provide one-on-one support to children and young people, and help create a warm, safe and engaging home environment.

No two days are the same: you’ll plan activities, accompany off-site trips, and support young people toward positive choices. Sleep-ins are part of the role, with paid training and opportunities to grow with the team.

Qualifications

  • Minimum age requirement: 21 years old.
  • Full UK driving licence preferable but not essential.
  • No prior experience necessary, only a commitment and passion for working with young people.
  • Must have availability for sleep-in shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Providing emotional support during challenging times
  • Fostering ambition in young people, assisting them in achieving their goals and maximising their potential
  • Offering support in the educational pursuits of young individuals
  • Maintaining accurate records and preparing written reports for planning meetings, reviews or any other meetings as directed by the line manager.
  • Empowering young people to actively participate in decision-making about their lives and future
  • Acting as an advocate in meetings where the young person is the subject of discussion
  • Encouraging community engagement, attending off-site activities, and expanding their personal social networks
  • Meeting the needs of children and young people, organising social activities and maintaining the home (laundry, cooking, cleaning shopping etc.)

Part Time Childrens Residential Support Worker

No two days are the same in this dynamic and fulfilling role! From planning engaging activities and providing one-on-one support to accompanying young people on off-site trips, each day presents new challenges and opportunities. As a residential care worker, you’ll need to be adaptable, flexible, and skilled at reading situations to help guide young people towards making positive choices.

For this role, whilst experience is preferred it is not necessary – if you have a positive, can-do attitude and the passion to make a real, meaningful difference to the lives of children and young people then this is the perfect role for you!

What We Offer:
  • £30 per sleep in
  • A full two weeks of paid training before starting the role
  • Overtime rate of x1.25
Our Shift Patterns:
  • 1 - 2 shifts on a part time basis
  • sleep ins are mandatory.
