Job description

Hunts Recruitment is looking for passionate Support Workers for a child care team near Totton.

You will be working with young people with additional behaviours and emotional needs within a residential setting.

-Job Type:Permanent - Full time

-Salary:basic of £29,484 per annum PLUS up to an additional £7,088 per annum for sleep in duties (1-2 expected per week)

-Hours:45 hours per week plus 1-2 sleep ins per week. Weekend working: Rolling Rota

- NVQ 2 or above preferred but not essential

Your job role will be:

- To contribute and participate in providing quality care and life experiences to vulnerable people

- To help provide a therapeutic, structured and relaxed environment in which service users can develop and enjoy their lives.

- To facilitate good communication within all levels of the staff team.

- Identifying the service user’s emotional, physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs and make appropriate decisions for action in consultation with the Management Team.

- To supervise and share meal times with service users, to encourage a positive attitude towards food and appropriate behaviour at mealtimes.

- To assist in the delivery of day care and leisure opportunities following individual activity programmes in conjunction with, and following guidance from day service staff.

Additional Information:

All employees are expected to work in a flexible way when the occasion arises so that tasks which are not specifically covered in the job description are undertaken.

These additional duties will normally be to cover unforeseen circumstances or changes in work. Training will be provided
