Job description

JM Workforce Services are currently working with a well-respected and emerging Children's Social Care provider based in Northampton to recruit a Children's Residential Support Worker for a new Children's home provider.

Role Overview: We are seeking a motivated and experienced Children's Residential Support Worker to lead shifts and ensure the highest standards of care for children in a residential setting. The role involves planning and managing shifts, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of children, and providing leadership and support to the care team.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Plan, manage, and lead shifts, ensuring children are kept safe and engaged.

  • Ensure the safety and wellbeing of the children in our care at all times.

  • Be flexible, consistent, reflective, and creative in your engagement with the young people.

  • Conduct regular key working sessions with the young people.

  • Sleep overnight at the home as required.

  • Work flexibly, including office hours, early mornings, late nights, regular weekends, and bank holidays.

  • Ensure shifts are planned with Residential Support Workers.

  • Manage all risks in line with company policies and procedures.

  • Communicate effectively with the team regarding daily plans.

  • Provide reports and documentation reflecting the progress of the young people using paperless systems.

  • Review the young people's care plans and other associated documentation.

  • Undertake an in-depth quality and bespoke training package.

  • Attend staff meetings and proactively develop and improve the service model.

  • Act as an advocate for the young people while using a positive parenting model.

  • Work with young people using positive support strategies, including de-escalation tools and techniques taught through in-house training (PRICE).

Job Requirements:

  • Level 3/4 in Residential Childcare (Essential)

  • Full UK Driving License

  • Clean DBS

  • Commitment to ongoing professional development to support the needs of our young people.

  • Clear passion and desire to support children and young people.

  • Active member of a progressive and committed team.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Competitive salary - £13.50 - £14.50 per hour, plus sleep-in allowance
