Job summary

Esland is seeking a dedicated Residential Support Worker to join our Weldon-based team. You will contribute to care plans, form strong relationships with young people and families, and ensure the home remains clean and well-recorded. The role includes sleep-ins and 2 on/4 off rotas.

Successful candidates will have a Level 3 Diploma (desirable) or be willing to pursue it, plus a full UK driving licence and a passion to nurture young people. Salary ranges £34,402 to £35,025 per year with benefits.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People (or equivalent) is highly desirable or willing to obtain after employment.
• Experience in a children's home setting is highly desirable.
• Passion to help nurture young people.
• Flexibility to work 24–48 hour shift patterns (including sleep-ins).
• Full UK driving licence is essential.
• All candidates must be over 21 to meet regulations.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to care plans and risk assessments, their review and implementation.
• Form effective relationships with young people, families where appropriate, and external agencies.
• Keep the home clean and adhere to the rota; involve the young people where possible.
• Maintain high-quality records with supervision and guidance from shift managers.
• Maintain professionalism in residential care and comply with Ofsted expectations.
• Support educational and social development through Individual Education Programs.
• Meet emotional and physical needs and maximize development opportunities.

The Role Of a Support Worker Will Involve

• Contributing to the young person’s care plans and risk assessments, their review and implementation.
• Forming effective relationships with young people, their families (if appropriate) and external agencies.
• To ensure the home is kept clean and in a tidy condition, adhere to the cleaning rota system, encouraging the young people to participate as appropriate.
• To ensure that good quality records are maintained as required with supervision and advice from shift and Managers.
• To maintain and promote residential care work to high levels of professionalism expected by Esland and Ofsted.
• To contribute to the educational and social development of each young person and assist in the implementation of Individual Education Programs.
• To meet the emotional and physical needs of our young people and maximize opportunities for their development.

What We Are Looking For From You

• Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People or equivalent (highly desirable) or a willingness to undergo this qualification once employed
• Experience in a children's home setting (highly desirable)
• Passion to help nurture young people
• Flexibility to work 24 to 48 hour shift patterns (including sleep-in) - rota given in advance but likely to be 2 on 4 off
• Full, UK driving licence (essential)
• All candidates must be over the age of 21 to meet industry regulations

• A salary of £34,402 to £35,025 per year, depending on qualifications (based on a pay rate of £13.45 to £13.75 per hour - depending on qualifications - and undertaking 8 sleeps per month on average)
