Job description

At Larchwood we provide short breaks overnight respite care for children and young people with severe and complex needs.

About you…

We are looking for highly skilled and motivated team players who are enthusiastic about providing the highest quality of care and support to our children and young people.

This is a full time role, to include some nights and weekends, rotas are published one month in advance.

About the team…

Working at Larchwood is both fun and challenging. You will be surrounded by a team who care passionately about the work we do and who equally recognise the importance of being supportive to each other.

The children and young people are all unique and require individualised care. Staff strive for excellence and ensure that the care provided is responsive to the children/young people’s views, wishes and feelings.

We offer high levels of support through monthly supervisions and fortnightly team meetings.

Key responsibilities...
  • To participate in the delivery of a range of short break opportunities including tea visits, overnight stays and weekend play sessions.
  • To keywork for a number of children/young people ensuring their care plans and risk assessments reflect their ever-changing needs.
  • To develop and support a wide range of fun activities that reflect the children/young people’s wishes and needs.
  • To promote children and young people’s independence and communication needs.
  • To promote the welfare of children and young people and to contribute to ensuring that children are safeguarded from abuse.
