We are seeking a dedicated and experiencedRegistered Managerto lead a 5-bed Ofsted-registered children’s home in theWest Midlands, supporting up to3 children aged 10 and overwithlow to medium support needs. This is a fantastic opportunity to manage a small, child-centred service with full backing from an established provider.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the home
- Ensure compliance with theChildren’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015and Quality Standards
- Register with Ofsted as the home’s Registered Manager
- Oversee care planning, risk assessments, and safeguarding practices
- Build and lead a skilled, trauma-informed staff team
- Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) for the home
- Liaise with local authorities, social workers, and other key professionals
- Foster a warm, therapeutic environment focused on development, safety, and independence
- Monitor and evaluate care delivery, ensuring continuous improvement
- Assist with budget planning and resource allocation in collaboration with the provider
Experience & Requirements:
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in children’s residential care within the last 5 years
- At least 1 year in a supervisory or managerial role
- Strong understanding of safeguarding, trauma-informed practice, and child development
- Experience supporting children with low to medium emotional, behavioural, or learning needs
- Confident in working with multi-agency teams and leading inspections
