Job description

Job Title: Waking Night Residential Practitioner
  • Type: Permanent, Full Time
  • Salary: £26,728.00 – £28,100.80 per annum (Dependent on Experience)
  • Location: Valley House, Nuneaton Road, Fillongley, Warwickshire, CV7 8DL
  • Hours: 40 hours per week
Requirements:
  • Understanding of the developmental needs (physical, emotional, intellectual, social, and educational) of young people.
  • Knowledge of Child Protection procedures and social care services available to young people and their families.
  • Ability to work within a team, demonstrating sensitivity and understanding.
  • Motivational skills to meet time and performance goals.
  • Ability to handle emotional stress.
  • Flexibility in work approach.
  • Good interpersonal skills to relate well to young people and staff at all levels.
Role Responsibilities:
  • Respond to and meet the identified needs of children/young people as per individual care plans and in consultation with the manager.
  • Work collaboratively with young people, families, social workers, and relevant agencies to meet young people's needs.
  • Ensure all work complies with legislative, procedural, and good practice standards.
  • Prioritize the safety and welfare of young people.
  • Participate in implementing, monitoring, and reviewing care/health and education plans, and contribute to planning meetings and reviews.
  • Maintain familiarity with legislation, guidance, policies, and procedures related to safeguarding young people.
  • Promote a physical environment conducive to good social care practice, aligned with standards and guidance.

Valley House provides a social care model with direct access to multidisciplinary health services. Located near Coventry, it has 6 bedrooms supporting children and young people aged 11 to 18 with needs such as learning disabilities and mental health issues. The facility offers a secure, stable, and enriching environment designed for safety, stability, and development.
