Job summary

A reputable care organization is seeking a Registered Manager for dual children’s homes in Birmingham and Leicester. The role involves overseeing daily operations, leading staff to create a therapeutic environment, and ensuring compliance with Ofsted standards. The ideal candidate will have experience with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD), strong management skills, and relevant qualifications. Salary: £65,000 (negotiable depending on experience – to be discussed at interview)

Tasks

Dual Home Leadership

  • Oversee the day-to-day management of two EBD children’s homes (Birmingham & Leicester).

  • Lead, support, and develop staff teams to provide a therapeutic, child-centred environment.

  • Maintain full compliance with Ofsted and Children’s Homes Regulations.

Care & Support Delivery

  • Design and manage personalised care plans meeting children’s emotional, behavioural, and developmental needs.

  • Promote structure, emotional regulation, and preparation for adulthood in a safe, nurturing setting.

Safeguarding & Compliance

  • Take overall responsibility for safeguarding across both homes.

  • Ensure quality assurance through audits, incident reviews, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

Experience supporting young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) and challenging behaviours

Proven management experience or strong deputy-level experience within children’s residential care

Sound knowledge of safeguarding law, Ofsted requirements, and Children’s Homes Regulations

Level 4 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent qualification)

Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a senior role within children’s residential care

Good understanding of trauma-informed practice

Full UK driving licence preferred

Must have the right to work in the UK – no sponsorship provided

Enhanced DBS check required
