Job description

We are inviting applicants to join our busy but welcoming children's research team from September 2025 for 12 months. Leeds Children's Hospital is research active with over 140 studies ongoing and up to 1000 patients recruited per year. We have a dedicated clinical research facility that provides a specialist environment for the safe delivery of complex treatments.

Leeds Children's Hospital is delighted to offer a unique opportunity for a Paediatric Junior Doctor to gain experience in clinical research delivery while developing their own research study. We are supported by a dedicated Children's Clinical Research Fellow (CCRF).

Our research team is friendly, highly motivated, and consists of nurses, medics, data managers, and clinical trials assistants. Located within a large teaching hospital serving over 1 million people (up to 3 million in the wider region), we cover a wide range of paediatric specialties including respiratory, diabetes, general surgery, oncology, neonates, and neuromuscular disorders.

Main duties of the job

We seek a motivated individual to contribute to research development within our team. The CCRF role has two main aims: to work within the existing research team providing senior medical support, and to develop a personal research project, paving the way for a career in clinical research. The post involves assisting in clinical trial management, coordination, and facilitation. We provide a 4-week induction and ongoing training, with supervision from departmental clinical and research leads.

Leeds Teaching Hospitals is committed to redeploying 'at risk' staff, and job adverts are subject to this policy, which may cause delays in the recruitment process. Please contact us if you have questions during the process.
