Job Description

What you’ll do

This is an excellent opportunity to enhance your current skill base and join us as a Children’s Complex Care Assistant. You will receive full training and clinical support to develop skills in complex areas such as tracheotomy, ventilation, seizure management, and stoma care. We support people of all ages, in the community and at home, with conditions like Spinal Cord injury, Muscular dystrophy, acquired brain injuries, and other complex needs. Every day presents new challenges, and your work will make a real difference in clients’ lives while you develop your skills.

The client is a lovely young girl living with her mother and pet dog. She has Hypoxic-Ischemic Encephalopathy since birth, requiring gastronomy care, medication via PEG feed, seizure management, dystonia treatment, and oxygen administration.

You will monitor her condition throughout the night, attending to her needs as required.

Qualifications

What you’ll need

Experience in childcare involving PEG feeding, suctioning, medication administration, and the use of moving and handling equipment is essential.
