Role Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an innovative nurse to work as a Children and Young People’s Learning Disability Nurse within the Community Learning Disability Nursing Service. The team operates within the wider Learning Disability Service.

We seek an experienced, highly motivated nurse holding current UK NMC registration, with some experience working with children, young people, or adults with learning disabilities. The role involves providing specialist assessment, care planning, and evaluation for children and young people requiring support with mental illness, autism, challenging behavior, or ADHD.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work across professional boundaries with a strong team ethic.
  • Develop your clinical skills and work autonomously using your judgment.
  • Support and deputize for the Senior Children and Young People’s Learning Disability Nurse.
  • Participate in service development activities.
  • Travel across Fife as this is a community-based role.
Candidate Requirements
  • First-level registered nurse in Learning Disability, Mental Health, or Children’s Nursing.
  • Experience working with children, young people, or adults with learning disabilities.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work with the wider health and social care teams, education, and voluntary agencies.
