Job summary

Warrington Borough Council is seeking four Children with Disabilities Family Support Workers to provide direct support to children and families, coordinate services, and promote inclusion. The roles are fixed-term until 31 March 2028 and require safeguarding knowledge and strong multi-agency collaboration.

You will work with education, health, social care, and voluntary partners to assess needs, develop plans, and maintain records while supporting families through crises and transitions.

Qualifications

  • Experience of working with children and young people with disabilities and their families.
  • Good understanding of safeguarding, child development, and disability legislation.
  • Skilled in engaging and communicating with children, young people, and families.
  • Able to work independently while contributing to a multi-agency team.
  • Organised, resilient, and able to manage a varied workload.
  • Experience producing accurate records, reports, and support plans.
  • Holds a relevant qualification in childcare, health and social care, family support, or equivalent experience.

Are you passionate about supporting children with disabilities and their families to achieve the best possible outcomes? We are looking for dedicated, enthusiastic, and child-centred Family Support Workers to join our Children with Disabilities Team.

This is an exciting opportunity to work directly with children and young people with disabilities and their families, helping them access support, build resilience, and achieve positive outcomes. You will play a key role in providing practical and emotional support, coordinating services, and ensuring families receive the right help at the right time.

The role

As a Children with Disabilities Family Support Worker, you will:

What's needed?

  • Holds a relevant qualification in childcare, health and social care, family support, or a related field, or can demonstrate equivalent experience.
