Children and Young People s Specialist

Location: Primarily based across two sites in Northampton
Salary: Competitive, based on experience
Hours: Full-time, 37 hours/week, some flexibility required

Our charity is looking for a compassionate and motivated Children and Young People s Specialist to support children and young people who have experienced or witnessed domestic abuse. This impactful role is part of our holistic rehabilitation and recovery programme, "Restored." Key Responsibilities:

• Support & Empowerment: Provide specialist, holistic support for children and young people, promoting healing and personal growth.
• Individualized Care: Develop and oversee support plans tailored to individual needs to ensure progress across key wellbeing areas.
• Collaboration & Advocacy: Work closely with families and multi-agency teams to deliver the best outcomes for children and young people.
• Safeguarding & Safety: Act as a Child Protection lead, prioritizing safety and wellbeing in line with safeguarding and Ofsted standards.
• Programme Delivery: Coordinate and facilitate activities, play sessions, and group programs that foster recovery and resilience.
• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records, data protection compliance, and provide written reports for multi-disciplinary meetings as required.

Essential Requirements:

• Qualifications: A child/youth-related qualification (e.g., NNEB, NVQ Level 3 in Early Years, Youth Work, or equivalent) and a Paediatric First Aid qualification.
• Experience: Minimum experience working with children of various ages, managing caseloads, and working within a team setting.
• Skills: Strong interpersonal, crisis management, organizational, and record-keeping skills, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a small, dedicated team.
• Knowledge: A deep understanding of domestic abuse impacts, safeguarding practices, and risk management.
